Q Chip announces new agreement

Q Chip Ltd, the developer of sustained release drug depots, announces today that it has signed an agreement with a leading international speciality pharmaceutical company to undertake the development of a sustained release depot of an undisclosed therapeutic peptide.

All the costs of preclinical and clinical development will be borne by Q Chip’s partner. In addition, Q Chip will receive substantial success based payments, and will provide the manufactured product after regulatory approval.

Ken Powell, Executive Chairman of Q Chip, said: “This landmark deal is validation of the unique drug encapsulation technology developed at Q Chip. It is our fourth collaboration signed in the last twelve months. Development will take place within our laboratories in Cardiff and at Q Chip BV, our cGMP facility at Geleen, near Maastricht, in the Netherlands.”
