Ken Powell
Executive Chairman
As well as Q Chip’s Executive Chairman, Ken is head of Arrow Therapeutics Ltd. With over 30 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical industry and academia, his previous posts have included Head of Antiviral Research and Head of Biology at the Wellcome Foundation.
He was Professor of Virology and Cell Biology at the Wolfson Institute for Biomedical Research (UCL) where he was also deputy director from 1996 to 2002. During his time at WIBR Ken set up Inpharmatica (now part of Galapagos NV) and Ark Therapeutics (now LSE listed) in addition to Arrow Therapeutics which he founded with five colleagues in 1998. Powell is well known for attracting venture capital investment; his portfolio of backers have included high calibre groups from the US, Europe and Japan.
Arrow now has nearly 60 employees carrying out novel antiviral drug discovery and development in central London. Arrow has multiple products in clinical and preclinical development and was recently sold to Astra-Zeneca PLC for $150 million.

Mark has more than fifteen years leadership and management experience gained in commercial organisations across a range of industries including biotech, IT and finance. Mark also spent five years with the PA Consulting group where he led programmes for a number of blue chip organisations in both Europe and North America. Mark co-founded Q Chip with Dr Jo Daniels and Professor David Barrow in October 2003.

Jo Daniels
Chief Scientific Officer
Dr Jo Daniels has an MA in Natural Sciences from Cambridge University and a PhD in Neuropsychiatric genetics. Jo has over 10 years experience in the life science industry in roles that have encompassed research, management and consultancy and has published over 40 peer reviewed papers. In 1997 Jo founded a genomics company, QT Genetics, and was latterly a business manager for Cancer Research Ventures Ltd.

Davis
Operations Manager
Rob has ten years experience of product, process and equipment design within the medical device sector. He has worked for Ortho-Clinical Diagnostics, designing precision fluid dispensing equipment for immuno-diagnostic applications and for Gyrus Medical, working on minimally invasive surgical electrodes.
Dr Nanette Bartram
Product Manager
Nanette has a BSc in Plant Science and Genetics from Cardiff University and a PhD in Plant Molecular Biology from Exeter University. Nanette has over 15 years experience in the life science industry initially in research, followed by five years in sales at Bio-Rad Laboratories and 8 years as a Product Manager at Dynal Biotech (now Invitrogen) responsible for the tissue typing and microbiology product ranges.
